More About Doug.

In his early teeneage years, Doug discovered he had a passion for beats and rhythm. At age 16, his parents blessed him with his first brand new drum kit, and he has been playing ever since.

Professional musicians, producers, and sound engineers have said that Doug is a seasoned player. His comprehensive and melodic approach to drumming stems from hard work, and is influenced by the caliber of musicians he has played with over the years, both live and in studio.

Some of Doug’s influences include: Breaking Benjamin, 30 Seconds to Mars, Dave Matthews Band, P.O.D., Swithfoot, Skillet, Delirious, Jason Aldean, Creed, Pearl Jam, Sevendust, just to name a few.

Doug has played on stages consistently for over 25 years. His dynamic and creative approach and adaptability has been refined by years of playing in bands, at churches, and as a freelance session drummer. He has played in some unique locations and had some wild opportunities, including opening for legendary rock band The Surfaris (“Wipeout”) ocean-side at the Hard Rock Cafe in Kona, Hawaii, in majestic Hong Kong, and even deep inside the walls of Calgary’s Spy Hill Penitentiary Prison, ministering to inmates through music.

Currently, Doug’s time is devoted to his family, his church, and REVIVAL, practicing for live concerts and songwriting for studio recording. Along with being a good husband and father, Doug is also a good friend and brother to many, and regularly serves on the worship team at church. Over the past 20 years, Doug has been an entrepreneur and business owner in the commercial concrete formwork industry. He currently works as a consultant, in the role of estimating and project management.

For decades it has been Doug’s dream to be part of a Christian rock band with band mates who love Jesus, who together reach the brokenhearted and help to break down walls of shame through powerful songs of testimony and fierce love. Doug’s theme verse is Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
